Online Meetings with Google HangOuts

Lately I've been having substantial results using Google HangOuts for meetings with producers and directors from out of town. I love it because it works just as well as a face-to-face meeting but it cuts out round-trip drive-time, letting me get right to work.

Almost everything is the same! I talk to the person calling the shots, he/she describes the composition, I draw a thumbnail, and they see it for approval or changes.

It's really opened things up for me. You can be anywhere. LA, Vancouver, Atlanta, London, or tight on time on the other side of Dallas. Call or text and we can be knocking out the work as soon as you're ready.

This doesn't mean I'm not doing regular meetings. Working out a project over a cup of coffee with cool, talented people will never get old and I'll always do that. But, if we're in a position where speed and accessibility come first, this is a first-rate way to go.
